Mario's first underground stage. Dim corridors, Koopa Troopas, and moving platforms over gaps make this a tense subterranean adventure. Contains the first Warp Zone, letting speedrunners skip to World 2, 3, or 4.
At the very end, break the ceiling blocks above the pipe to access the legendary Warp Zone (Worlds 2, 3 & 4).
A hidden Starman sits in a block just before the midpoint elevator section.
Use a Koopa shell to clear a long row of enemies for a massive coin chain.
