A Koopa riding a cloud high above the ground, endlessly dropping Spinies onto Mario below. Lakitu tracks Mario's horizontal position and drops eggs that hatch into Spinies on impact. Killing Lakitu temporarily stops the Spiny rain and lets you ride his cloud briefly.

Hit with a fireball to defeat Lakitu instantly — the highest priority move when he appears. You can also jump on him if he flies low enough, which is rare. His cloud disappears shortly after he is defeated.
